Do you transport hazardous goods or is your truck wider than 2.75 metres or heavier than 60 tons? For this kind of special transport you will have to meet the conditions mentioned below.
Transport of hazardous goods
The transport of hazardous goods is regulated by law under VLG regulations (regulations for transport of hazardous substances). For substances that cannot be transported during regular crossings TESO provides crossings on stipulated dates. These crossings are exclusively dedicated to the transport of hazardous goods. Crossings are scheduled at least every other week, often on Fridays at 10:00 hours departing from Den Helder and at 13:30 hours departing from Texel.

Excess width
Is your cargo wider than 2.75 metres? Please contact us by phone well in advance. We are available from Monday till Thursday from 8:00 till 16:30 hours and on Fridays from 8:00 till 14:30 hours on phone number +31 222 36 96 00.
Attention! Vehicles with excess width of 2.75 metres or more cannot pass our terminals and will have to be guided on board along an alternative route. It is therefore essential to report at the vehicle counter in Den Helder way in advance of departure of the ferry.
Heavy transport > 60 tons
For the transport of goods heavier than 60 tons you will need a permission from the Dutch Ministry of Waterworks Rijkswaterstaat due to the limited capacity of the facilities in the ferry harbour. In order to obtain the permission please contact Rijkswaterstaat two weeks in advance.
